A good portrait photograph of a HJ Flakhelfer. Note that he wears the standard breast eagle of LW instead of the specific eagle for Flakhelfer. The photo has a note on the back, dated 1945, indicating that the person served on the island of Ruden. After the air raids on Peenemünde, the 6th Battery of the Heavy Anti-Aircraft Division 337 was stationed at Ruden. According to eyewitnesses, they shot down a total of ten Boeing B-17s between May 19 and September 1944 using their 8.8 cm FlaK 41.
