Here is a couple documents calling this member of Bann 231 up for military training . Almost 6 weeks training ending on 18 March 45 ….Im guessing his younger age would put him in a Volkssturm Unit as the paper is stamped “ Volksturm” as well.
Comments welcome as I am pretty new to HJ .
Would he have been assigned to any particular Volkssturm unit because of his Bann 231 designation?

Hi,

This is the call-up paperwork for boys sent to the WEL for their military training but with, as you say, the addition of a Volkssturm stamp. The area covered by this Bann was reached by the americans mid-Apr so this chap may well have been involved in some action as part of the Volkssturm. I don't know which unit that may have been.

The meeting point was the Horst-Wessel-Schule (incorrectly spelled Horst Wesselschule and therefore difficult to decipher), a school in Hückeswagen.
Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, Bannführer Bach is already on Garry's list.

I should have mentioned it but I only had Bach in post in 1944. I then spotted Bach on cpt's document as you did and was able to add him yesterday :thumb:
