Here is an interesting early first pattern HJ membership badge. Note the crude primitive font and inconsistent size of the lettering. Especially noticeable is the "reversed" N error in Jugend. Also note the crude appearance of the swastika with bottom arm which does not extend into the lower black enamel. The sun has 20 rays. Reverse has raised GES. GESCH. only. This marking is also in a primitive font with very distinctive lettering especially the G, S, and C. Also distinctive is the distant placement of the period after GESCH. There are a number of early NS-Parteiabzeichen on Jo's web site with an identical GES GESCH marking and of the same or very similar construction.
