Hello,
Here i have a fantastic little grouping to a Paul Melcher who was born on the 4.4.1923. He is from Jungbann 1/231, Ruhr-Niederrhein, Opladen. Right between Cologne, Dusseldorf and next to Leverkusen. Would of been a very active part of Germany during these years I can imagine.
This grouping includes :
HJ Ausweis cover
DJ Ausweis
DJH Ausweis 1938&1939
Insurance card
DAF Strength through joy, Kaiser Wilhelm institute Ausweis
A letter briefly who qualifies as a require
National socialists german workers part card
Gymnastic Ausweis
Plus photos of Paul Melcher.

I would love anymore info people could help provide on this grouping for me, plus maybe what his fate was? One thing i would especially love to get everyone's opinion is the Motorbike photo. I can read it says 'Smoking forbidden' but seems to be in some sort of vehicle store room? Just an interesting photo. If anything is incorrect please correct me.
Thank you
Josh

Hey Josh, I very much love this collection of identity cards . It is nearly a complete CV (curriculum vitae) of a young HJ member . Of course I tried to find more information about him in the small location where he lived ( LEICHLINGEN ) but nothing is to find on the internet. And what might be found after so many years? He came from Leichlingen next to Solingen where most of the HJ daggers came from.

The vehicle store room can be from the WEHRMACHT but also from Police or other similar institutions. I count at least four motorbikes and who at those times had four motorbikes in a store room? Only military or Police. Unfortuantely there is no advice on the walls that would allow us an identification.

I even seeked for his Birthday data but there is absolutely no information on the net the same like about my Dad and Mom who had similar dates of birth.

Yes , this boy must have been a very active boy who participated in many organisations but what else could a young man do without internet and mobile ? It is the best compilation of identity cards all from one person I ´ve ever seen. Congrats Josh !!!!

That's a nice set. I particularly like the letter from the Scharführer regarding the Streifendienst. To be considered for that says a lot about this young chap's character as only the most trustworthy and dedicated were considered for SRD membership.

Congratulations on this interesting convoluted set, Josh.

The street Bertenrath mentioned in his address is not a street at all, but a then independent farmstead with 40 inhabitants, 3.5 km from Leichlingen.

Translation of the letter [subject to errors and misunderstandings]:
According to the order of the Bannstreifenführer, the Streifenkameradschaft 3 is to be further expanded. In patrol duty, only such youths can be used, that fulfill their duty 100%. The Streifenkameradschaft 3 is expanded as an independent unit. Members of a patrol cannot belong to another unit (including technical). You may well be familiar with the tasks of the patrol service. You will fill out the section below completely, and send it to the tribe by October 3.

[Streifen/Streifendienst = Patrol duty]
