I'm writing a page for the HJ-Wiki and am looking for good pictures of the Marine-HJ scarf. They had a particular closure but I don't know much about them other than there being two types:

this one:

and post-1939:

The later type came already sewn and ready for wear but I don't know about the earlier type. Any and all info on the MHJ scarves would be very welcome.

Good evening Garry.

Well, the only "scarf" I know being MHJ for sure was the one which Clyde Davis had in his collection - it had an RZM tag indeed.
Now fast forward to the Navy: It was the NCO of the basic military training who were tying the knots for the recruits. Either this was the case in the MHJ as well or the youngster MHJ boys had to do it themselves under the supervision of the more senior staff. At the end it is not rocket science - the knot at the front has to look decent and the blue stripe has to point in the right direction (North Sea or Baltic Sea indicated by the the blue stripe pointing to top left or top right direction).
I don't know much more about them. Even that there are two different patterns was not known to me.

Hi Daniel,

On the two types: the second type cost RM0,90 according to the 1939 RZM price list and was mandatory from Jan of that year:
