The Collector's Guild posted these shoulder boards:

I am new to this corner of the hobby...
I am sure these are claimed, given how rare they are, but I would like to learn more...

any red flags?
and how about the pricing?

Hello,

these period shoulder straps match to the school of finance (Reichsfinanzschule), a state institution.
There were several schools but the school located at Herrsching am Ammersee in Upper Bavaria, was the best known and had great prestige.
Rudolf Hess' son was there.

Regarding these shoulder straps, they are very rare in good condition, we often find them damaged.

Regarding the price offered by Collector Guild, I find it outrageous when I see its condition.
$ 850 is way too expensive for that. Save your money and be patient, this is the best advice I can give you.

For those interested (but many will know) this subject is dealt with
in my HJ-Handbook. The pages 525 through 532 cover them.

Widukind mentions Herrsching at Ammersee. This institution was
opened August 1, 1935 as first and was known as the Reichssteuerschule.
April 29, 1936 the school was renamed into RFS.
Fourteen institutions would follow.

There is a small error in what I wrote, the son of Rudolf Hess was in Feldafing and not in Herrsching, sorry.
