This was announced by the von Schirach in Amtliches Nachrichtenblatt RJF VI/4 dated 18.2.1938. The purpose of the academy was to officially create the new employment designation of Jugendführer / Jugendführerin (Youth Leader). If successful, applicants would receive a Youth Leader Patent. this 12-month course the were instructed in the sciences, politics, economics, sport, paramilitary training and others. Instruction in singing, dancing and foreign languages was also given in order for the successful candidates to be able to interact appropriately when representing Germany at occasions/functions in other countries.
