Here is a silver achievement badge and here are the reasons I believe it is a reproduction.
Manufacturers numeral "1" not very pronounced
Badge is thicker compared to my white metal Bronze example from same maker
Badge weighs 20.7 grams compared to my 8.3 gram Bronze example
Shear marks and edge look too perfect. Possibly new tooling.
Note: patina on back, edges, and pin/spring is more gun metal but pictures in LED light make it look very black
If anyone disagrees with my observations please state why.
If you agree, please post. I would like to see at least one to be sure this post has been looked at.
Does anyone have originals made from denser metal than white metal?

Yeah, that is one wierd looking badge. For me the detailing on the obverse is nice and sharp like an authentic badge would be but like you say, the weight and that wierd almost bi-metal appearance is very strange. Yes, and the suspiciously perfect sheared edge just pushes this badge squarely into the "dodgy" group.

The dealer graciously took it back and refunded my money. I've bought several things from him in the past with no issues. I should have been a better observer before I purchased. It was at a show (not online).
