We are in the midst of the greatest battle of our history. The entire nation is risking its life in this gigantic struggle at the front and at home for the freedom and security of our fatherland. Millions of brave German soldiers are fighting in all theaters of war, millions of hard-working men and women are working tirelessly for victory - for your future!
Generation after generation takes up the flag to defend our people's right to life, as countless others before them did in a millennia-long struggle for survival.
Soon you will be joining the Wehrmacht and you will continue the history of our people, as young comrades at the front you will take up the marching step of our glorious soldiers. Having grown up as a National Socialist youth in Adolf Hitler's empire, every German boy will enthusiastically put on the grey coat and prove himself as a soldier. In war there is no greater honor for you than to become the nation's arms bearer, to be the Führer's grenadier.
As long as our people have this sense of mission, they will be undefeated in the fight against any enemy.
You, German youth, will move forward courageously with warm hearts and as bearers of the legacy of those who before you paved the way for Germany to achieve its greatness.
However, anyone who feels called upon to take on the greatest degree of responsibility and fulfilment of duty through high personal value and strength of character, through physical toughness, freshness and mental agility, should become an officer.
To be allowed to lead German men in battle in this holiest of all wars is not only a special honor, but the highest fulfillment of a man's life.
Information sheets on the Army's active non-commissioned officer, officer and reserve officer trainees are available at all Army leadership trainee reception points.
