Hey all

I have recently bought this book as I have personally never seen one before. Im sure some people on this forum will have one and would love to see another example. I am sharing here as Id like to fully unerstand this booklet and Fedor Kit's story. I really struggle reading this old handwriting ( I am learning but some writing is just really hard to try and understand) and would love to know his story to as much of an extent as I possibly can. And this forum is the best place for that !

Thank you for looking, Hope everyone has a nice weekend

Certainly an interesting one. This chap was a ukrainan SS-Zögling who was enlisted as a Luftwaffenhelfer in 1944.

Born: 2.11.1928 in the village of Potutory in Galicia. Was still living there in 1944.
Height: 170cm
Trade: cobbler
Was a Luftwaffenhelfer from 11.9.1944 to 25.4.1945. He training took place between 12.9.1944 and 29.10.1944 in Büsum. Between 29.10.1944 and 25.4.45 he served with 2nd Light Flak Division 755

Brilliant, thank you Gary as always. I found this description online of the description of a SS-Zögling -

‘SS-Zögling refers to a juvenile SS pupil who was not yet eligible to join the formal SS. In Eastern Europe and the Baltic states (in this case Ukraine), these members were tasked to defend and guard airfields, buildings, warehouses, workshops, factories, etc. against enemy aircraft attacks.’

This is a correct assumption?

I will do some more research on the 2nd Light Flak Division between 29.10.1944 til 25.04.1945 and will report back when I know more.

Thank you again

They were called Flakhelfer until the designation changed to SS-Zöglinge in the autumn of 1944. There are a few threads on the forum where the insignia of the Zöglinge was discussed. Zögling or Zöglinge will work as a search term (y)
