Hey experts..

What is your opinion on this wintermütze??
- Is it from the period, or is it a civilian hat that was decorated after May 8, 1945??

Can anyone help with this cap? It doesn't have a leather sweatband or the RZM label of course. Could it be a good one?
 
The buckle is also not what you want to see.
And for me.. i only would want a 100 % textbook, since all the others are just not sure.
But the liner and fabrik and model look good.
But not for me..
 
Back then, I received additional photos from the seller of the HJ diamond and the buckle.

To me, the diamond does not appear to be a cap diamond.
The buckle does not bear an RZM stamp.

So it is 100% a civilian cap... The question then is whether the cap is from the period and was used as an HJ cap... - It’s hard to say with 100 percent certainty... So if you were to buy it, it would be based on a gut feeling...

The time i bought at gut feeling is long gone;-)

There is a nice one for sale at IMCS right now (a set with winteruniform and buckle) it was mine.. won't be for long i think.
I had 4 sets from the same HJ unit Flandern.
Kept the best one. This one for sale is the second best. The other 2 were sold within a couple of days

It’s always risky to buy based on a gut feeling. :h
- Personally, I prefer being able to back things up with period photos or other reliable sources.
 
I bet there are period photos with the type of cap you show.. but.. people will always doubt and that's not a good investment when you don't know the source 100%

Ah, so that was across the board for headwear Wim? I posted a note about the Motor-HJ cap here with a reference to the RZM Mitteilungsblatt showing that leather sweatbands were no longer fitted so it looks like that applied to the winter caps too.
