I have a bit of a different shoulderboard in my collection. At first glance it is an non-bann numbered Flieger shoulderboard.
However, the construction is a silk/satin type tight-weave smooth material in black, backed by grey wool.
The piping is smaller/narrower than normally found and is of a darker shade of blue. Almost a medium blue.
Photo next to a standard board for comparison.
Anyone got any clues to help me out please?

Hi Topofthehill

I think that it look like a shoulderboard from the "Wiking-Jugend"

Try to read this thread, that I started long time ago:

HJ shoulderboards ???

Let me hear what you think, when having read the old thread.

It certainly bears a resemblance. The piping is of the right size, but the material front and back seems to be different and the piping a different colour.
Then again I dont suppose the Wiking-Jugend had a tightly controlled manufacturing standard.

Unless I find an different information, I am going with your suggestion and this goes on my "fake/not HJ" pile.

Thank You
