A few more Jugendherberge installations

One of the older albums I purchased for police pictures happens to begin with the future policeman's adventures as a HJ. He and a friend took a brief foot vacation staying at the respective Jungendherbergen. He either took a photo or provided a post card of the four hostels where he stayed. Here they are below. The album had a separate chapter on his HJ treck with his group to a larger meeting at the Jugendburg Freusberg. There were images of some of the group activities and personnel. I will try and take some better photos of those.

Here are the images of the earlier 1938 trip to Freusburg with his HJ group. Sadly I could find no indication of his group number. I have posted the pictures in order from the album. The newspaper clipping of the HJ burial appears to have been during the trip. The Freusburg Lagerführer is in the leader picture and named in the article as well as in the signature card. I guess this will be two threads as there is a limit of ten images per post.

Here are the balance of the photos of the HJ trip of Horst Tomalla. I wrote that he joined the Ordnungspolizei and was transferred to a training battalion outside of Vienna. There were interesting photos of the swearing in ceremony of his battalion. There was no further indication of his service or destiny.
