Hey all,
Got lucky recently with this wonderful postcard showing the AHS Bannfahne. How many of these flags would of existed at one time? And if anyone can roughly translate the back, that would be wonderful. Once I get it, I will upload a clearer scan. I believe the boy in the middle is also wearing the gorget.

Thank you all

That's a nice card. In November 1939 Gefolgschaft and Fähnlein flags were introduced for the AHS. These were exactly the same as the normal flags but the Spiegel (corner patch) had "AHS" and below that the name of the school. Clearly the flag in the photo is a Bann-level flag so all I can surmise is that it represents all of the AHS and that there would therefore only have been one of them.

I can read some of the writing on the back (birthday wishes to an aunt) but Jack will be able to get the text 100%.

I'll try, but not until tomorrow evening please. I just got back today and have a lot on my plate again...

Don't worry, I don't feel rushed. Just an explanation as to why the response was a bit delayed.
The chap wrote very neatly, so it wasn't an effort.

this sounds like the stuff I wrote to my own grandparents when I was that age! I guess every grandparent sends their grandchildren the equivalent of 10 dollars...
