I want to show you another example of a pair of academy shoulder boards. Unfortunately, I'm still missing the triangle, but maybe I'll be lucky and get one at some point.

I ended up finding it on the internet, the rare triangle and the only one I could see.

I know of at least 5 of these triangles and the one you show is also in a collection that I know of.

I saw it too, and I think the price is very high—€2,500.
As is well known, the "A" buttons do not belong to the Academy.

Hello everyone, here is the badge I bought during the HH sale in May 2025, I thought carefully before buying it but the rarity of this badge made me crack and I was finally able to acquire it for the price of 1500.- euros, a high but reasonable amount given the rarity of this badge. Note that the numbering of the RZM label shows, with the badge presented by Bertl59, that at least more than 2000 badges of this type have been produced! There must be more to be found ;-) Best regards.

That is a great triangle, too. If you ever decide to sell it, I would be very interested. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to buy one yet. My Academy shoulder boards are still looking for a matching triangle.

Hi Polux,
Congratulations on the great triangle.
However, the serial number on the RZM tag does not mean that it refers to this specific Akademie version. It is simply a serial number for a category of textile products subject to a tax of half a pfennig (‘A’).

Manufacturers would then order a certain quantity of tags they required from the Reichszeugmeisterei and pay on delivery. This means it is possible that different manufacturers were supplied with the same serial number. Not in this case, however, as the manufacturer’s number is pre-printed.

The quantities ordered were not very large either, as can be seen from the photo of a leather factory. For textile manufacturers, the quantities were certainly greater than 15 pieces a time, but not necessarily in the thousands.

So, it cannot be assumed that there were at least 2000 more examples of the Akademie triangles.
There could have been all sorts of triangles in between. That’s better for you too, value-wise :cool:.
