Hey guys,
I know these Berchtesgadener trachtenjacke are very hard to date if they are period.
That is the reason why I did not bought one yet.
Last week I got a change (and the price was very low)
to buy this one.
The seller (a friends of me knows him well) said that it is found in this condition with those abzeichen in a drawer at a house clean up.
So it should be fresh out of the woodwork.
It was found near München and the abzeichen show a wolfsangel used by "kinderschar" München and a München abzeichen.
The jacke has a period initial tag and the right buttons.
(Stamped ges. Geschutz)
But.. but the item, not the story:
My only concern is the hj/bdm diamond.
It looks poor condition. I think it never had emaille (late ware) and no RZM.
But..it has a number Stamped, which looks home made (mitgliedsnummer?)
But... why, why, why...
One one hand.. I would like to believe it is real but poor condition.
On the other hand.. my feeling sais it is wrong.
But that would change the whole story of the finding of the jacket..
What are your options?
I have seen poor original diamonds in the past before, but never with a number stamped.
