Bund Deutscher Madel helmets?

Anyone have any info on the two helmets shown in the photo? The one on the girl in the background appears to be a miniaturized version of the regular army helmet and the other one looks like one made just for the Bund Deutscher Madel League of German Girls. Does anyone own one of these, how rare are they? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply but I really don't care if the photo is reenactor or not, I was interested in if the helmets were correct and if so does anyone have any info on them. I would find it odd that a reenactor would use non-authentic looking helmets, why not just use regular German helmets. All the reenactors I've seen try and use authentic looking stuff, or what's the point? It would be like a waffen SS reenactor wearing an American helmet.

Yes. definitely a reenactor photo as Crack said. They might try hard but reenactors often get stuff wrong. The girl in the photo wearing the helmet with a HJ diamond decal to give the impression that there was an official "Hitler Youth" combat helmet would be an example of that. BDM girls would simply have worn whatever they were given. There was no "official" helmet for them. I have no idea what the blonde's helmet is meant to be in that photo but as I say, she could put any helmet on her head and still be "correct".

From the shape, the helmet on the foregound girl has a Russian/Soviet block look to me.

I believe the picture is a screen shot from the movie "Downfall" not a reenactor if so who knows were they got their costume ideas from

Your probably thinking about this scene in the movie "Der Untergang" aka "Downfall". She's wearing a regular german helmet. For those who haven't seen it, this is a great movie, well worth watching. The technical advisor did a really good job on the uniforms and weapons. They even make liberal use of Stg 44's which at this stage of the war and in particular with the Waffen SS units in Berlin at the time were widely issued.

No such helmet exsisted for the BDM. They were sent into battle wearing woolly pink caps, wielding a Hitlerjugend camping axe with a specially made belt adorned with Xmas bulbs in the shape of Hitler`s head, to toss at the enemy. BDM leaders were issued with Zeppelin Xmas bulbs and the 1935 Reichsparteitag combat machete.

The helmet the girl with braids is wearing looks like it could be Italian or Russian to me. No official H.J. or B.D.M. helmets were authorized or issued to Volkssturm or Flakhelfers. Many different styles of helmet were used as period photos show, from Luftschutz, Heer, Police and Fire, French, Italian, Greek, Russian, all matter of captured or repurposed helmets.
