I would like to show you an example of where a BDM Gruppen pennant was changed. On 01.02.1941 the Bann 219 was split into another Bannbecause it was very large. The Bann 778 was created. The old numbers 36/219 were removed and the new 1/778 embroidered on.

This practice of recycling flags and Wimpel was prohibited by regulation but it clearly happened nonetheless. Nice example
