When was this buckle introduced and when did the DJ stop wearing them? There seems to be many different types too? Some with black rune, others with gold. Were they not standardised?

The buckles were standardized in 1933, and gave way to the HJ buckle in 1938 according to Angolia's HJ, Vol1. Prior to standarisation, and even afterward as period photos show, many different types were worn. Look at this thread for more information and a converted buckle DJ to HJ.
