Hi Anton,

the official name for the headgear in Germany was "Schiffchen". (E: "Side Cap").

Hello ,
I have one like this but with a label and I don't know exactly what to think of it. It's not the usual material. Perhaps @christianlohmann will have information? I think it was made very early (maybe 1930) and until the beginning of the RZM.
PS: I also have the same version but brown color, I will try to take pictures soon

According the remains on the lining, the label was like this

Hello ,
my 2 caps in the same material and the label (pics 1 and 2)
The others are for comparison, they are wool and note that the label is normally for a BDM cap (5 and 6) even if BDM does not wear such a cap. You can also see the difference in materials inside . The last photo show the place of the label but the are missing (left and at the top )
