From what I have read this can't be a correct DJ leader cap . The 1936 version was essentially a DJ winter cap but with the addition of the braid around the top and around the earflaps and the eagle instead of the diamond. The later type from 1938 had just the braid on the top and the eagle and was stiffer and made of a different material. You can see this 1938 type here:

Here's the 1936 version

Hello fjr02
What I don't like about this cap is:

The buckle (it seems to be metal rather than leather or the other type of painted brass).

There's no checkered stitching pattern inside, nor any sinusoidal stitching on the sides (look at the post of CRACK and you'll immediately understand what I mean).
The eyelets look modern to me, but it's hard to tell precisely from the photo.
The lining around the edge seems very shiny and made of synthetic material (but that might just be an illusion).
And finally, the fabric is wool, whereas these Fuhrer-DJ caps are made of very fine cotton.
Question: Is there a leather reinforcement behind the buckle tab?
Cheers

One last detail: I've seen small ventilation holes on the front of the sweatband on all of DJ Fuhrer's caps, but the one you're showing doesn't have them.
