Found this shooting badge on a dealer site. Caught my attention as I thought that 128 was always a bad mark on these. To be honest the badge looks to be authentic to me?
Well , M1/128 certainly made Parteiabzeichen ( Eugen Schmidhäussler ) but this DJ just isn’t looking the quality I would expect . Excess enamel taking over the area around the J , Rifles look poorly cast with the barrel end being hacked angular on the one , wavy lines on borders containing enamel , reverse not much better with poor stamping , distorted attachment guide and the black charcoal like colouring seen on other suspect badges . Not sure what the base material would be .. Eisen... pot metal ? I have never had the opportunity to examine a DJ shooting badge but I would expect it to be of much better execution. Just my two cents .
