I don't know where I found this photo but I think it was from here. Look at this boy's cap. It has some kind of strip around the peak like you see on fakes today. The period wintr cap is not described in the regulations as having this so maybe this boy's mother sewed it on to stop the peak fraying? What do you guys think?
