Good morning, dear friends. I would like to ask for your help regarding a situation I found myself in the other day. I saw a knife on the Internet pretending to be Pak and his children. The condition is, in my opinion, one of the best I have ever seen. But here's the question: could this knife be an excellent copy of the original knife? It looks suspiciously good. I would be very grateful with all my heart for any help you could give me! And if anyone has literature on HJ knives and can take a photo of the original knife, to this guy, I would be infinitely grateful!

Hi there,

I used Google translate and amended your post but please post in English in future please. Thanks.

What makes you think that this knife is a copy? That Pack maker mark would correspond to 1934/5 and I don't see anything on the photos that is obviously wrong.

There is a huge collection of Ernst Pack knives here for comparison purposes:

Good day! Thank you very much for your reply! Sorry, I thought I posted in English. I have an auto translator in my browser, so I must have made a mistake. Regarding the knife. The thing is that when I bought HJ knives before, I usually searched the Internet for exactly the same knife and compared all the details. If everything matched, then I calmly made the purchase, knowing that I was buying the original. In this case, after a long search, I still have not found exactly the same knife. Something was always wrong. Or different sheaths, or a different stamp ... that's why I am turning to you for help. And I hope you can help me. I will be very grateful for your help with all my heart!

For example, here is a knife that seems to be most similar to the one I have displayed. But the sheath and leather hanger are clearly different. And so I want to understand whether this could take place in principle in this case?

I see what you mean. I can't really assist any further as I don't have the necessary knowledge on Pack knives but hopefully another member may know more.

The condition of that knife is good, but why worry about that?
It looks like a fine original to me, with perhaps a replaced leather buffer pad, but not sure.
The scabbard (one runner inside) is also what you like to see in combination with an early knife.
