I have tried to modify the pic a bit

and I read it as follows:

"Gauführung X der Nied Ost"

Maybe it means Niederschlesien Ost ??

Could I be right ??

I think the picture was taken in Vienna.

I wonder what period this photo actually should be, while the early HJ-symbol
is being used with this wall-plaque, 1931 or 1932?

I believe it was used until 1938. Niederösterreich "exist" until 11.March 1938 in that period.

The indication Gauführung was not a common expression.
The wall plaque will not have hung there during the period of prohibition!

According to the price-list A from the Zeugmeisterei from Austria, the HJ
diamond was already a regular insignia. This price-list was from March
1933.

In 1932 there existed six Gau-districts. The headquarters for Niederösterreich
were in Krems. Vienna was Gau Wien. This one can read in: Das Dienstbuch
der NSDAP Oesterreichs from March 1, 1932.
