I'd like to introduce you to my new boards, which are made from the synthetic fiber Cellon.

These are a pair Oberbannführer from the RJF staff. I've included a couple of pictures that show the fiber well.

They're magnificent! Superb and rare shoulder boards. I think the RZM label doesn't correspond to this type of item; it should be marked with the letter D or more.
 
  • Material details are important — Cellon (early synthetic thread) was used on some period HJ shoulder boards, and its sheen and aging can help with authentication.
  • Construction tells a story — examining stitching, backing cloth, and attachment methods is key to distinguishing originals from later reproductions.
