Hello. I've been looking to purchase a Fanfare trumpet banner and there appears to be two designs ones with vertical stripes and ones with horizontal stripes. I can find period pictures of ones with horizontal strips but not vertical stripes. Littlejohns book suggests that the regulation style was horizontal strips are the ones with vertical strips post war creations or possibly early pieces?

The regulation type had horizontal stripes but as you can see from the photo below (Hochlandlager 1934) the vertical type also existed:
