Is it original?

Mariadorf belonged to Bann 386 Aachen-Land after Bann 25 was split. In my unit list project I see that Mariadorf had a dedicated Fähnlein with the number 51/386. Unfortunately I don't yet have the number of the Gefolgschaft at that location that will have used this banner.

The banner itself looks really good. In my opinion an original with a great design.

What does the horse symbol represent?
Is not on Mariadorf coat of arms or Aachen.
Some local HJ unit?

Or Aachen is part of Nordrhein-Westfalen area in Germany.
Coat of arms Nordrhein-Westfalen has horse.

Hello,
it makes a good impression at first glance, but unfortunately, judging by the photos, it is impossible to tell whether it is an original or a reproduction. There are very good fakes out there these days, as items like this sell well.
 
From a heraldic point of view: this coat of arms (COA) raises more questions than it answers.
Alsdorf itself did not have a COA (only towns and districts were and are permitted to bear coats of arms). It belongs to the Aachen region, but that region uses the double imperial eagle as its COA and was situated in the Rheinprovinz/Rhine Province. So if it were the other part of the Nordrein-Westfalen/North Rhine-Westphalia coat of arms (remember: founded after the war), the silver wavy bar representing the Rhein/Rhine, that would be fine. But what the Sachsenross/Saxon steed (also the coat of arms of Westfalen/Westphalia) is doing in the region is very strange.
Addition: The COA of the Landkreis Aachen/Aachen district from 1938 does not (of course) fit in with this either. It features the black lion of Jülich and a swan.
 
I put some closer photos of flag.
If someone were going to make a good flag replica, why would they make a mistake on a trivial detail like the coat of arms?

That looks good, and that kind of machine embroidery isn't easily replicated these days. I also think it’s a fine banner from that era.
 
This could go back to Charlemagne (Karl der Grosse). Aachen Kaiserpfalz was one of his favourite places to spend the winter as they had hot springs there. He rode a white horse which is therefore likely to be the reason for it being on this banner.
