Maybe this is of use to someone, just scanned this one that I recently obtained. Any history would be most welcome on the camp as I can't find much myself.

Hi Kyle,
the Entsendegau means the children's home region.
Destinations for Düsseldorf were, for example, Thüringen or the Sudetenland, so they were regions with few air raids.
Not always with luck, 21 children from Düsseldorf were killed in an air raid on Schleiz (Eastern Thuringia) in April 1945.

Google had found only one "Offizierserholungsheim" (Officers' recreation home) in Falkenstein/Taunus but we have too little information to say, yes that must be the one.

I'm wondering whether this could be Schloss Altenstein in Thüringen.

The archive material definitely shows both a link to the KLV and to the use of the building as a recuperation facility for Wehrmacht officers:

Yes, perhaps this is an even more promising candidate. Unfortunately, there is not the slightest hint of the building in the picture given. So maybe (former) Grand Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen - or maybe Grand Duchy of Hesse?
Have a look at the house in the Taunus: It is now a luxury hotel and can be found under "Falkenstein Grand Hotel". That would make you want to do some research on the spot :thumb:.

You can find rectangular stones like those shown on Kyle's photo in places on photos of Schloss Altenstein but you're right of course - the vast majority of the stonework isn't a match. I haven't found anything in the Gebiet 34 orders yet regarding KLV locations but I'll keep looking.

This would help but...

Whoa, there it is again, the curse of out-of-print books :001_rolleyes:. The price is a bit steep for 200 pages with a list.
If it is of interest, I will post a just rediscovered KLV "Entsendebogen" (dispatch sheet) in the paper section later.
