Great, I have a knife, but far from being as beautiful, a real treasure, congratulations Berti

Interesting unique knife and document. That is the first Heidelberg knife we've ever had on the forum.

Very interesting lot with a great story.

By looking at the document and the HJ knife I get the following story out of it:

SA Rottenführer Franz Brass - Sturm 14/138 - has a son on July 10, 1938 who is baptized Hermann Brass on October 2, 1938 or October 9, 1938. (I'm not entirely sure, but I read the date on the knife as October 2, 1938, however the date on the document is September 9, 1938 – but that probably doesn't matter)

The HJ knife is a baptismal gift for Hermann that the parents are to pass on to Hermann when he joins the HJ. It was given by the father's comrades in Standarte 138, the document is signed by their Standartenführer. (Standarte 138 Duisburg, Gruppe Niederrhein)

The engraving on the HJ knife: "Zur Namensgebung" means "for naming".

It would be a decorative addition to my collection, but unfortunately it will probably never be.
