I am always exceptical on the MHJ caps without RZM tag, I prefer to avoid them, even if they were really used.

caps without RZM are really commonly used, as this is stated in old documentation.

I do totally agree, yet as a collector, I do prefer one with RZM tag (mostly for my mental health) because is the best way to know you didin't paid a huge amount for a cap that the Insignia has been added post war to increase the price or another tellermutze.

Sorry for joining this thread late. I think that with all HJ uniform items, you really do need to specialise in your chosen area and do your research and also buy from a reputable dealer who is prepared to guarantee authenticity. Also the RZM label itself is no guarantee that a previous owner hasn't put the wrong eagle or cockade on a cap where these had been removed post-war. Recently in two auctions, I've point this out to the auctioneers, who were unable to justify the descriptions they had given to the items.

Good story, but... skip trusting the dealer guarantee..
They dont know everything and my experience is that they sell it to you as period.. and you have to prove them wrong afterwards.. (world upside down)

Do your research before buying..
