Can anybody verify what color of buttons , pips and cap eagles that were used on MHJ peacoats and caps ?
Was it silver or gold ?

From the 1938 clothing regulations: the single-breasted Dienstrock for MHJ leaders introduced in 1938 had gold buttons (without anchor). The rank pips were gold. The MHJ Führermütze had gold buttons and a gold eagle. The Mütze for mid-level MHJ leaders had gold buttons but a silver eagle.
The chap in the photo is obviously wearing the earlier double-breasted jacket which had had "yellow" ie gold buttons. These were SA buttons adopted for use on the MHJ jacket. The earlier cap had gold buttons on the sides but I don't know whether the eagle was gold. It would make sense that it was.
