yes joe, have a look at the DJ equipment ive posted lately, all around a third smaller than HJ items, i belive these were used in an earlier period, the DJ being issued with normal HJ equipment later on in the years, this is only a theory of mine ,regards pete.
another question here: I have always considered this type of canteens usually with RZM markings as HJ (I am referring to the larger one in the pic). There are also some civilian marked bottles which I believe they were also used. Now I am discussing on a black felt canteen with no markings on another forum. I see them from time to time on ebay.de but I always thought they may be swiss or postwar. Am I wrong again and they're instead HJ?

Indeed sure, you can find also the same bottles made without a rzm codification from makers like Ritter for instance. What I am saying is that I don't think that the standard army bottles were issued (at least officially to political organisations or HJ), but I have no documentation about it and I may be wrong
