Hi Gents, today I was able to acquire the extremely rare Nord Ostsee sleeve triangle. You all know how difficult it is to find an East Ostland or an East Silesia on the market, but it's even more difficult with a Nord Ostsee. As far as I know, it was only in use between 1933 and 1934 - after that the Gau/ Gebiet was renamed to North Mecklenburg. Is that right? Not many were produced back then and how many actually survived the war? You only see the Nord Ostsee in a few collections - almost never in stores. Debertex showed in another thread that there were two different fonts. So far I've only found one photo that shows this sleeve triangle in wear. If any of you have found any more photos of this triangle in wear , it would be great if you could post them here. What else can you say about this triangle? Was it produced in Hamburg? Or by some other well-known manufacturer? How many inhabitants did the Mecklenburg region have in 1933-1934? Any information is welcome.

I can only say BRAVO ! very beautiful piece and great photo on the subject. Looks like the patch rune is home-made

Hi Clodwig
if we zoom in on the photo we can see threads around the rune unless it is due to the quality

Hi bertl59, all manufacturing features of this sleeve triangle correspond to the other triangles from that time - maybe it's because of the photos I posted here? I found no difference to those triangles debertex has published here.

It's about the sleeve rune on the carrier photo. your triangles are a normal one as it is known.

There is an error of understanding Chlodwig !! I'm talking about the patch with the S rune. The triangles are totally OK of course

I´m sorry bertl59 - my mistake - I did understand right now :h but Wittmann1944 gave me some advice . Thx to you all . And bertl, you are right - the picture shows some little quality problems but I did not get any others .:noidea:

Nord/Ostsee changed to Nord/Pommern in 1935 (y)

The Gebiet Nord/Ostsee was much bigger than Mecklenburg as it had its headquarters in Stettin, which of course remained the same for the Gebiet renamed Ost/Pommern on 1 January 1935.

Ost/Pommern of course. I'm blaming it on the wine that I hit very hard yesterday ;)

Haha Garry . Hope it was a good one.
I'm currently experiencing a two-month dry spell, just like that, for no reason. The reward for this is a six-and-a-half-day working week :cautious:.
I hope to be back here more often soon.

Hello bertl, indeed the rune on the arm of the boy looks home made. I have already found such sleeve badges from this time being home made - like some others too. Germany between 1919-1932 was a country in poverty.

I was happy to find a really scarce sleeve triangle, but someone has outbid it. We knew that the "Nord Ostsee" probably existed with the traditional braid. And here is the proof of it. Congratulations to whoever was able to acquire this district sleeve triangle. It came on the market by an auction house.
