Hello Everyone - Is this HJ related? I’m thinking about buying this one too. It’s a nice looking tinnie and I like the pre1933 stuff. Is it worth 42 Euros before shipping? Thanks.

Hi Carlyle,

No, the Reichsjugendwettkämpfe are older than the HJ. They were first held in 1920 and were intended to encourage all German youth to participate, regardless of party. Especially after the war, culture and sport played an important role, as a distraction, but also as a reform-oriented new beginning.
As a clear sign of the commitment to democracy and state consciousness, they took place every year on 11 August, the day of the Weimar Constitution.
