Every German broadcaster had these radio drama and music groups, called Rundfunkspielscharen, based in places such as Königsberg, Breslau and so on. They comprised the most artistically talented young people (between one hundred and two hundred) and were tasked with producing radio programmes ‘by young people, for young people’. Deutschlandsender was the most powerful broadcaster, transmitting across the Reich on long-wave. There was the Rundfunkspielschar der RJF am Deutschlandsender.
