Hello,

A dealer I know in Germany bought my Quex book and was enthusiastic about my research and all the information he read, so when he spotted this 2nd edition of the novel in Leipzig last week he bought it for €38 and has sold it to me for that price, so I could add it to my collection. It has the ultra-rare, albeit damaged, original dust jacket which appeared on the first five editions of the novel from December 1932 to June 1933, when the DJ image was changed to that of Jürgen Ohlsen in his uniform from the film. That new DJ was then used through to the last edition, which was published in 1942,

There are very, very few original DJs around. A 510 pp. reference work Der Literarsiche Kampf um den Arbeiter by Michaela Menger, published in 2016 by degruyter verlag, apologises for not being able to illustrate the first edition, despite "intensive national research" across Germany in which to find a copy.

cheers,
William Gillespie

I have purchased from a resident of Warclaw/Breslau in Poland the deluxe hardbound edition of the novel printed in 1932, "1-10 Thousand" print-run, bound in a cover with an embossed swastika on the cover, and gold-lettered book title on the spine. I attach some photos. A dealer of NS books has confirmed to me that he owns four other titles from Zeitgeschichte Verlag which also were offered in this deluxe hardback edition with swastika embossed into the cover, but he had never seen the Der Hitlerjunge Quex before. I attach photos.

A great book, but unfortunately, the dust jacket is rarely in good condition or isn't even attached to the book. I have two copies in my collection.

Hi, the DJ I have is as per the photo in pretty good nick. I wish that the inside front DJ had a traditional description of the book.
cheers
