I got a reprint of 1936 RZM regulations, and it seems that Genuakord shorts were in use in 1936 and even before. At that time HJ wore light brown cotton twill (Hosenköper), summer and winter. DJ wore black twill - in summer.


But not in winter: The DJ-Winterdiensthose was made of Genuakord or Velveton. So the young ones had it a bit more comfortable on cold winter days.

Addendum 1 of the 1936 regulations ordered the omitting of the small watch pocket:
