That's great. Only the second one that I've seen. The autolink doesn't seem to be working for some reason but we have a page on the BDM leader badge here if you haven't seen it yet:

Normally the paperwork would be sent to the Gebiet and they would authorise the award and then return the paperwork to the Bann so the later badge being awarded earlier is probably down to postal delay or something like that.

A very beautiful and rare document! It is interesting to see that there is a page allocated per age group (A, B, C), which is not the case for HJ-Führer booklets.
If we refer to the number of points required to obtain the badge (age category A) , this person received just a little more than the minimum number (3500 points)

I've added this to the article on the BDM leader sports badge (Führerinnensportabzeichen) but here is more evidence to add to the argument that a physical badge was never actually awarded and hence why we've never seen one. The attachment is dated Dec 1943 and as you can see there is no such badge shown even though the article itself deals exclusively with all sports badges, shooting badges, achievement badges etc in use at that time. Okay, it doesn't show the DJ shooting badge either but I would think (if it had existed) that the BDM leader badge would have been mentioned under glossary item 12 as that is obviously the male version.

Edit: I found another newspaper article from June 1944 that talks about the upcoming female leader pentathlons within the Banne in that year. It is clearly stated that the award for successful participants would be to wear the BDM leader sports badge. All we can conclude is that either the badge was never physically awarded or that all examples of the badge have been lost to history.

Just to continue to labour the point on these badges 😜

I have a source from 1942 showing that only a certificate was awarded to those who reached the required points total in the BDM/JM pentathlon and triathlon. So, no BDM Leader Sports Badge (Führerinnensportabzeichen) yet for the pentathlon. A source from June 1943 describing the upcoming sports championships in Gebiet Westfalen-Nord states that the badge would be awarded here "for the first time". Looks like we can be sure that the badge first appeared at some point in the first half of 1943 despite it not appearing in the plate from Dec 1943 in post 8 above. However, with no known physical badges appearing to have survived we are still left with the question of whether the badge was ever actually awarded or alternatively, that all awarded badges have been lost to time. If one were to turn up I think it would command a very high price...
