Here my RBWK Teilnehmerabzeichen Reichswettkampf Köln 1939. This was a birthday gift. I think it´s original. Or is it a Fake?

lovely badge in great condition too, most of these badges suffer badly with zinc pest yours is one of the best i have seen,ewan doing this badge a disfavour by calling it a tinnie, these where participents badges very hard to find and expensive too

Not to hijack the thread but like Stu says most of these awards I've seen had loads of Zinc pest on them. Any safe way to get rid of it?

Stu i have never seen one before and come on zinc pest usually and a quick look at the rear and pin set up can see why one would think tinnie? :behindsofa: :laugh:

ewan, these participant badges are regularly sold by loads of collectors and dealers as tinnies because as you said to look at the set up that's what they look like - especially the one shown above and the 2 earlier years 1934/35. The funny thing is, the earlier ones are easy to pick up whereas the later years are much harder

I heard a thin coat of vaseline is good for zinc pest.
