hello
last time i've oobtained this three hj buckles,from another source i was given an information that the buckle with faded markings is the most interesting and my question is why?do You think similiar?

Is that buckle not another Assmann with scratched off marking? Assmann buckles are not rare I think.
 
Actually yeah, the spacing and size of the scratched areas looks right for an Assmann MM
 
That was exactly my thought on first sight. Another Assman. But why would someone remove the markings? No Idea.

These buckles are well known with the makers' markings removed. In this case you are correct and the buckle is certainly by Assmann. The removal of the makers' markings is period. Examples by other makers are known as well with removed markings some even stamped over with new information. Researchers are not sure why however. Perhaps, the buckles were purchased in bulk from Assmann and the markings were removed before they were sold by another firm or a distributor?
