Hi
Wilhelm,
I am sorry for using one of your photos, let me share one of the photos from my family:
My great-grandfather
Heinrich-Christian Westerholt was a prof. photographer, he also was a prof. woodturner, and a publisher.
Let me share one of his photos from the late 1920s, a gathering of the "
Stahlhelm Gau Oldenburg - Ostfriesland".
Location was the "
Schlossplatz" in the city of
Oldenburg.
My scan is not perfect, from the 1990s, the great-grandfather was german nationally minded, a man of the old-fashioned sort.
I like to share other photos later, please be patient...
Btw: I would be interested in the exact date, if that's even possible..?
Photos of this meeting at that time are not known, only this one photo.
If there should be more photos, then I would be very interested in them, maybe also a reference to the photographer at that time.

My great-grandfather was a pacifist, a World War I veteran, he hated the Nazis, he hated his son's career in the Nazi Party regime, that's what killed the man...
A memory of brilliance and baseness, as in many German families.

The photo of my grandfather is frightening,, more than ironed, strict, a German, National Socialist,
Most of these photos disappeared after 1945, all of that was burned...
Micha
PS, PS I'm getting tired of repeating all of this over and over again.
Go to the camps, walk around there, think...
