Hello everyone,
Please could I get everyones opinion on this statue? It is 45cm in height and 16cm in width.
'Wooden figure/wood carving drummer. Notice the text on the plaque, Münster-Westfalen, the drumstick seen on the pictures on the right was glued once, the left drumstick has a crack/dry crack, but which is normal for wood.'
Rough translation of the plaue is 'in memory of the work we did together'
Can anyone else please give their opinions on this piece?
Thank you very much

It says:

"Our Ortsgruppenleiter Pg. Lobmeyer in remembrance of the combined work of the political leaders of the Ortsgruppen Bahnhof, Rathaus, Überwass. Münster-Westf. 1939"

The information on the plaque is certainly legit. In 1936 Pg. Hans Lobmeyer became the NSDAP Ortsgruppenleiter of the Ortsgruppen Münster-Bahnhof and Münster-Uberwasser. In Oct 1938 he also took on Münster-Rathaus. This explains the mention of all of these places on the plaque in 1939. In 1942 Obergemeinschaftsleiter Lobmeyer died in Brixlegg (Tirol) where he was convalescing after experiencing heart problems. He was a recipient of the Kriegsverdienstkreuz with Swords and the NSDAP Bronze service award. In short, I don't see any problems with this nice little piece. It sounds like it was presented to him by party functionaries in Münster but I can't find any mention of that specifically.
