Got this one today for about 15euro on a swedish site for various kind of things, in other words it was not on a site purely for militaria. However - im not sure of the origin. Its marked with "7/2 A2" and the length is 24,5cm according to the info from the site.

Maybe it's a pre-war production from 50s/60s?

I also know that Denmark imported this kind of knife to their Danish pro-Nazi Youth movement under the era of ww2 by an import firm called "Gylling Hansen". Can it be one of those?

Will update with better pictures as soon as it landed.

I have had a similar knife which I sold for approx. 25 years ago.

Attached is a picture of it, not very sharp, but it's photographed from a paper picture - that's what we had then. :giggle:

I don't have a close-up photo of the blade, but I have taken a photo of a section of my registration slip from back then. As you can see, it is the same number that is on the blade and in addition a drawing of the company mark for Gylling Hansen, which was placed close to the number.

The knife is probably from before 1945. The company Gylling Hansen did not exist after 1945 (I cannot verify this information, it was found elsewhere without documentation – but you might try to find documentation for that yourself (y))

This was what I could contribute - and I am excited to see if you can find further information

Thanks Michael! Will update with new pics hopefully in friday. Do you have some idea of market price if its from before 1945?

I will look forward to seeing more pictures of your new knife.

And what is the value of it then??? - it's hard to say, but I can tell you that when I sold it, it was for the same amount as a regular HJ knife.

Very interesting. I've never seen markings like that before. I hope you guys are able to get to the bottom of it.

In the new pictures you can clearly see the Gylling-Hansen marking - so your knife is definitely in the same series as the one I had. (y)

Even then, over 25 years ago, I was told the story that the knives were intended for the Danish NSUs - but I have never had it documented in original sources.

NSU = National Socialistisk Ungdom = National Socialist Youth

So now that you've been lucky enough to get your hands on a fairly rare knife at a VERY cheap price, you've got the motivation to delve into the archives and get the history verified.

Good luck with your research.:) and let us hear what you find.

Thanks Michael! Will check the archives! Seems to be a rare amount of theese NSU-knifes from G&H.

Seems hard to find more facts about the danish import company Gylling-Hansen.

Just seen two more similar objects like this one by searching the web. Also tried to find more facts by searching info and pictures regarding to the danish Hitler jugend NSO without any success.

To be continued! 😅
