The source i added a few posts back, around 1933 or so, refers to it as a HJ-Brooch, a non-official brooch for boys and gilrs, allowed to be worn by anyone, not a cap badge. And of course it is also found on belt buckles as well, as we know from photos and period catalogs. More likely than not a pre 1933 item that died out after the NS took control and the HJ was re-shaped ..(zäh wie Leder, hart wie Kruppstahl & all that...)nor is it a cap badge as shown by the period source via Jo :scot
