Dude, I was hoping you would have an idea.... It's drivin me crazy. I am not a photoshopper and the quality is not there anyway. I don't think the text can be brought out. I just hope there's someone out there who can make an educated guess as to what it is. Remember the auction description said Marine HJ. There's a wide band at the bottom, wasn't that to acknowledge old members or something? Or can it mean different things?

Mr Ayerst, according to your post in the article on triangles, they were only issued '34-'35. And my pic shows that band across the bottom.
Does that mean I have a pic featuring rare insignia or would ya not go that far :tongue_smilie:

I would say its a LANDJAHR also, not the best comparrison but they appear very similar my computor skills are as good as yours

Taking into account the rural setting in the photo, the single line triangle, I would also think it's probably Landjahr.
