I completed my HJ uniform recently possibly found an issue and now I might need a tissue for my tears.

I completed my HJ uniform recently and after studying and learning more about the organization structure of the HJ which is an organization I haven't studied as vociferously as others. I realized there it is possible that my HJ shirt has been potential tampered with since the war?

The Obergebiet/Gebiet for my uniform is Süd Württemberg and that triangle is obviously original to the uniform I can tell from holding enough original uniforms and seeing their insignia, both original and original post war applied...

The shoulder strap buttons look like they are at least original thread but the straps themselves I'm not sure? Since the Gefolgschaft is 20 and the Bann 40 and while Bann 40 is in the Baden/Württemberg area, it is technically Obergebiet/Gebiet Süd Baden I believe? No Süd Württemberg as my original triangle indicates... So either someone remove the straps at some point and they just put Bann 40 straps on it without regards to whether it was absolutely correct? Or it's some weird period thing because they are in the same area and there was some cross over in the deep south of Germany?

Maybe it is some weird thing? Or originally it had no shoulder straps? I know some HJ uniforms didn't or perhaps it was originally from these units in Süd Württemberg?
Gefolgschaft 20/180
Gefolgschaft 20/401
Gefolgschaft 20/433

Here is my uniform link below.. maybe I'll have to find different shoulder straps? But I'm reticent to do that because it could be some weird odd ball period thing? Because that uniform looks awfully untouched when I got it...

Thanks gentlemen for your tthoughtsand regards!
Adam

Bann 40 was always within Gebiet Baden so you are right, if the triangle looks period-attached then someone after the war added the straps not knowing that they did not match the triangle.

exchange the field-cap with a cap with visor.
What is the reason why, I'd like to learn? I've seen many period photos with the khaki color HJ shirts, black shirts and a khaki colored side cap. The side cap is Allgemiene HJ, no eagle just the diamond...

Thanks,
Adam

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I guess it would be correct to have no shoulder boards also but I believe because of the Gefolgschaft buttons that this had originally shoulder boards at one time, because the buttons look like many original attached buttons I've seen. I would take more pictures but that mannequin bust is a pain to remove the uniform from. Although the chances that I find the shoulder boards for the units below are probably slim. It's your slim pickens online for them. Perhaps the show of shows or the MAC show?

Would khaki or black shoulder boards work? Or would the cap need to be changed also?

Thanks,
Adam
