My contribution today, two Ausweis: for a Rottenführer from 1/343 Frankenthal and a youngster from the Düsseldorf Jungvolk.

Two MHJ group pictures of mine: here the Marine-Gefolgschaft 22/229 Hof in front of their tent with the inscription Gebiet Bayr. Ostmark 22. They have emphasised the name of their town with pebbles.

The leadership of an MHJ unit from Mitte-Thüringen, with a lot of Leistungsbazeichen and others. They are probably from Gera. In the background the logo of the BDMV (Bund Deutscher Marinevereine).

The one on the right belonged to me for many years and I sold it as a favor to a friend for research on his part. In the end, I wished I had kept it. John

I see the thread takes some motion. I'm happy about that. Unfortunately I cannot speak French and Google translate doesn't come up with a translation which makes sense to the "seeberufsfachschule" tally.

Could you kindly rephrase the words in English please?

Hi Marine-HJ, it's true that online translators are not always reliable. I was able to enlarge the photo and saw that it was indeed a “seeberufsfachschule” tally. By the way, I received the badge today!

Searching the site, I found a thread about tally “seeberufsfachschule” in 2009 and 2014 !

Hi Jack,

Many thanks for this wonderful photo. These youngsters seem to be the leaders of a Gefolgschaft which is heavy on the Naval side: I see several Scharführer, many Kameradschaftsführer, even on Hauptgefolgschaftsführer.

And the icing on the cake is the BDMV logo on the background. Very nice find!

Congrats. To be honest, the Wesermünde Seeberufsfachschule was unknown to me so far. What we should not forget, these institutions were under the umbrella of the Kriegsmarine, weren't they?

Thank you, Daniel. Apparently, the chaps called in a photographer, because his stamp adorns the back.
Hence the assumption with Gera.

Here are two other group photos.

Interesting that the photo and my cap tally do not match between Form 1 and the Form 2 in the photo.

Interesting topic you are cutting there, John.
Firstly, it is the same location. However there is no "ß" in the alphabet of capital letters and is substituted by a double 'S'.

A very nice evidence of both patterns of the Lößnitz tallies.

This is exactly the reason, the missing capital ß at that time. The corresponding rule was still in force in the 1960s (and that was to remain the case for the rest of the century).
It is now still replaced by SS or, if misunderstandings are possible, by SZ. Efforts to create a capital ß are underway.
It would take another 50 years before it really existed.

So the two tallies had to be different.

Good evening,

many thanks @Alcor for the link to the book, unknown to me so far.

On a sidenote, and maybe I can encourage the members, a photo from a boy from Gefolgschaft 18 in the only designated Marine-HJ-Bann. This was in Hamburg and it had the number 202. The highest number known to me is 21. Who has any photographic evidence of other tallies of Hamburg?

Rgds

Good evening,

An idea to the community: let's post tallies and other members try to match it with a photo in wear. I always found it very beneficial to see a photo which shows a particular tally in wear (or vica versa).
Who wants to make a start?

Rgds
Daniel

I posted this before but let's give it a try.
